The Canary Islands are also not free from plastic pollution. On the one hand, this originates from tourism; on the other hand, plastic waste is transported by the sea currents. The image shows a bottlenose dolphin with a plastic bag around its head.

Here a pilot whale is shown with a ghost net around its head, a fisher’s net which was lost during the fishing process or was deliberately disposed of in the ocean and since then has been floating in the sea and posing a threat to many marine mammals.
